Escape to Paradise: Your Breathtaking Milan Rooftop Awaits!

Escape to Paradise: Or, Did My Milan Dream Just Come True? (A Brutally Honest Review)

Okay, so "Escape to Paradise: Your Breathtaking Milan Rooftop Awaits!" – the name alone had me hooked. I'm talking full-blown, romanticized Milan dreams: Aperol spritzes, sleek fashion, and, of course, a rooftop view to die for. And let me tell you, after my (slightly chaotic, but utterly unforgettable) stay, I’m here to spill the beans. This ain’t your average rose-tinted review, honey. We're going deep, messy, and honest.

First Impressions… And That Damn Elevator:

The promise of "Paradise" started promisingly. Finding the place was easy after hopping off the airport transfer (more on that amazing Airport Transfer later). The exterior gives off that classic Milanese chic vibe. But here's a minor snag: the Elevator. Or, rather, the lack of a grand, gliding, effortless elevator one might expect for a hotel promising panoramic views. It was a bit… cozy. And slow. So, if you're the impatient type (guilty!), prepare for some mild elevator anxiety. But hey, it does get you up! The Elevator is also accessible, so no worries about stairs for those who need it.

Accessibility: A Mixed Bag, But Tilted More Towards 'Good'

This is important, right? Let's be real. The hotel generally aims well on Accessibility. The elevator, while slow, is crucial. There are Facilities for disabled guests, which is fantastic. I didn't personally use them, but knowing they're there is a huge plus. I did notice wide hallways, which is a good sign. I’m not a wheelchair user, but I could see this place being good for accessibility, aside from the general limitations of a big city that isn't always perfect.

My Rome wasn't built in a day…and neither was my Milan

One of the perks of this hotel is that the hotel is in a great location. So if you are looking for a place that can get you around the city easily, this is the place to be! It's not entirely Wheelchair accessible, but there are lots of routes around that are.

Rooms: So Pretty, I Almost Cried (In a Good Way)

Okay, the room. The room! Forget the elevator trauma for a second. My room was… stunning. Seriously. Like, Pinterest-board-worthy. The Blackout curtains were a godsend. I slept like a baby (once I’d battled jet lag, obviously). The Air conditioning worked flawlessly (essential in the Milanese summer!). The Bed was HUGE and the Linens, chef's kiss. They got the details right - even the Hair dryer wasn't the pathetic, weak hotel-variety. There was a desk I promptly covered in chaotic notes and spilled coffee. But who cares? It was perfect. The Additional toilet was a nice touch. The Window that opens let me breathe in that Milanese air. Also the Internet access – wireless was essential.

Internet: Connected in Paradise (Mostly)

Wi-Fi [free] is a must these days, and the hotel delivered. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! Thank god! I needed to upload my photos (duh) and stalk the local fashion scene. The connection was mostly solid. It did cut out once or twice, which was annoying, but overall, good. There's also Internet access – LAN, which is cool if you need a more secure connection for serious work stuff (I was mostly just shopping, so Wi-Fi was fine for me).

Food Glorious Food (And The Occasional Food Panic)

Okay, let's talk food. This is crucial, right?

  • Breakfast [buffet]: The buffet was… extensive. Asian breakfast, Western breakfast, the works. The Breakfast takeaway service was a lifesaver on the days I nearly missed my train.
  • Restaurants: There are Restaurants on site, one of them serving Asian cuisine in restaurant. With Desserts in restaurant, Salad in restaurant, Soup in restaurant, and the whole thing, there's something to everyone's liking.
  • Coffee shop: The Coffee shop was a delightful haven. The espresso was strong and the pastries were dangerously good.
  • Room service [24-hour]: Hello, late-night snacking! The Room service [24-hour] came in handy after a particularly grueling day of shopping.
  • Snack bar: I may or may not have visited the Snack bar more than once.

Dining: It Has Everything!

The hotel has many things to eat and drink. Its A la carte in restaurant, and has an Alternative meal arrangement

  • There are lots of good drinks. The Bar is great if you are looking for a relaxing time, as it has a Happy hour to help people relax. They also had a Bottle of water, which is good, for when you're thirsty.
  • They offer a Poolside bar, and Coffee/tea in restaurant, to help you.

But here’s the REAL Test… The Rooftop (Cue Angelic Choir)

Okay, the rooftop. This is what you're here for, right? The Instagram-worthy view? The promised "Paradise"?

The Pool The Pool with view is the best part of it. This has to be the highlight of the whole place.

  • Swimming pool [outdoor]. I felt like I could just chill, get a tan, and relax. It was breathtaking. Like, actually. Take a deep breath. I almost screamed when I first walked up. The skyline… the Duomo… the whole damn city spread out beneath me. Pure, unadulterated joy.

  • Having a pool with a view is what you need to make the place amazing. I spent hours, and it's easy to spend hours, in the pool taking photos and just relaxing.

  • Spa/sauna. The pool is also connected to the spa which has a Sauna, Steamroom and a Foot bath, so you can relax and enjoy it.

More Things That Made Me Happy (And Possibly Slightly Broke)

  • Daily housekeeping: My room was always immaculate. The Daily housekeeping staff are miracle workers!
  • Concierge: They got me reservations at a restaurant that's impossible to get into. Legend.
  • Cash withdrawal: Super useful, because, you know, Milan and shopping.
  • Gift/souvenir shop: You can always get something from the Gift/souvenir shop.
  • Laundry service & Dry cleaning: I was able to keep my best outfits nice and clean, and also I can't travel without my clothes!
  • Car park [free of charge]: This is great.
  • Fitness center: The gym was actually decent! I still tried to avoid it but you have the Fitness center and the Gym/fitness so that's great.

The Less-Glamorous, But Totally Important Stuff:

  • Cleanliness and safety: Felt very secure. The Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hand sanitizer, Rooms sanitized between stays, and Staff trained in safety protocol made me feel at ease. This made me feel safer.
  • Check-in/out [express/private]: Quick and efficient. The Contactless check-in/out option was a nice touch.
  • Reception The Front desk [24-hour] service was great.

Services and Conveniences. A quick rundown

  • The Air conditioning in public area is a must in the summer.
  • They had Alarm clock to make you wake up.
  • They have a Breakfast in room, so you can just relax in bed.
  • There is a Elevator
  • You can make a Food delivery
  • They have an Ironing service
  • There is a Luggage storage which is great.
  • They have a Meeting/banquet facilities and Meetings, good for business.
  • They offer a Shuttle service
  • They have a Terrace
  • There is a Taxi service

For the Kids and the Couples

  • This has Babysitting service, and Family/child friendly, to make your kids happy.
  • There are Couple's room, to make it more charming.
  • There is a Proposal spot

The Verdict: Is It Paradise?

Look, nothing's perfect. That elevator could use some work. But honestly? "Escape to Paradise" absolutely delivered. The rooftop view alone is worth the price of admission. The staff are fantastic, the rooms are gorgeous, and the location is spot on.

Final Score: 4.5 out of 5 Aperol Spritzes. (Minus half a point for the elevator, obviously.)

LA TERRAZZA SU MILANO Milan Italy

LA TERRAZZA SU MILANO Milan Italy

Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because you're about to get a front-row seat to my ridiculously messy, gloriously imperfect, and totally opinionated romp through Milan, specifically, La Terrazza Su Milano. (Spoiler alert: I'm already in love – or at least, deeply infatuated).

Milan Meanderings: A Terrazza Tango (and maybe a little drama)

Day 1: Arrival & That Damn Train

  • 10:00 AM (ish) - Malpensa Arrival (and my first, glorious, Italian F-bomb). Landing in Milan felt like a dream. Until I hit the baggage carousel. Thirty minutes. Thirty agonizing minutes of watching those identical black suitcases circle, mocking me. Finally! My bag. And guess what? It was scuffed to hell and back. Okay, breathe. Italy. It’s character-building, right?
  • 11:00 AM - The Train to the City: Epic Fail (Mostly). The train? A chaotic dance of elbows and luggage, a symphony of confused (and possibly hangry) travelers. I swear, I spent half the journey crammed between a snoring gentleman and a woman who was very passionately FaceTiming her poodle. The scenery? A blur of industrial landscapes and fleeting glimpses of beauty. I did, however, manage to eat an entire panino while simultaneously wrestling my suitcase into the overhead bin. Victory! (Small, sweaty, but victory nonetheless.)
  • 12:30 PM - Check-In at La Terrazza Su Milano & Initial Swoon. Okay, here's where things get good. The B&B? Stunning. Seriously, the photos don't do it justice. The rooftop terrace… Oh my god. Sweeping views of the city, with the Duomo piercing the sky. I nearly choked on a lungful of the crisp Milanese air. The host, a charming woman with a twinkle in her eye (and the most perfect Italian accent ever), welcomed me like family. The room? Simple, clean, and flooded with sunlight. Instant bliss.
  • 1:30 PM - Bruschetta & Bad Italian: Okay, so my Italian is… well, it exists. I attempted to order lunch at a tiny trattoria nearby. I tried for Bruschetta (my go-to) and got… something resembling a brick. I’m pretty sure I offended the waiter with my butchered attempts at ordering. Note to self: Learn more Italian than 'Ciao' and 'Grazie'.
  • 3:00 PM - Duomo Daze (and almost getting pickpocketed). The Duomo. Holy. Mother. Of. Architecture. Seriously. I’ve seen pictures. I knew it was impressive. But standing at its base, craning my neck to absorb the sheer scale and intricate detail? Overwhelming. I felt small, utterly insignificant, and completely awe-struck. Now, here's a fun story about not being paying attention and almost getting pickpocketed! I was so busy staring up at the spires, mouth agape, that a guy practically bumped into me and tried to grab my bag. Luckily, reflexes kicked in! I'm pretty sure I yelled something incredibly unflattering in English, and he scurried away. Lesson learned: Even beauty demands vigilance.
  • 5:00 PM - Espresso & People-Watching. Found a tiny cafe, grabbed espresso (the REAL stuff!), and parked myself at a table outside for some serious people-watching. Milanese fashion? Unbelievable. So chic. So effortlessly cool. I felt like a total tourist in my practical walking shoes. It was delightful.
  • 7:00 PM - Apero and the Aperol Spritz Incident. Found an Apero place and was ready to imbibe. I had been waiting for this moment like a starving cat. The problem? I forgot to specify “Aperol Spritz". I got a gigantic, overly-sweet, bright-red concoction that tasted suspiciously like cough syrup. I spent the next hour trying to appear sophisticated while discreetly pushing it around the glass. Learn from my mistake: be specific with your cocktails.
  • 9:00 PM - Dinner & Deliciousness (Mostly). Dinner at a restaurant that seemed to be a local secret, and I did manage to get a legit pizza. The food was divine. The atmosphere was buzzing. The wine… well, let's just say I slept very soundly.

Day 2: Art, Canals, and a Potential Breakdown

  • 9:00 AM - Breakfast on the Terrace (Pure Heaven). The B&B's terrace again. Today, it was clear skies. Fresh bread, strong coffee, and the Milanese skyline. Pure, unadulterated bliss. This view alone almost makes the trip worth it.
  • 10:00 AM - Pinacoteca di Brera & The Stendhal Syndrome (Almost). The Brera Art Gallery. I’d heard about it. But nothing prepared me for the sheer beauty. I was particularly captivated by Caravaggio's "Supper at Emmaus". I stood there, transfixed. The use of light, the emotion… I felt a genuine pang of something akin to a mini breakdown. Tears welled up, I felt a bit faint. Thankfully, I have a good friend that told me to have a coffee and chill out.
  • 12:00 PM - The Canals of Navigli: Charm and Crowds. The Navigli district. Picturesque canals. Charming cafes. And a lot of people. It was pretty, sure, but the crowds were suffocating. I kept getting bumped. I almost lost my temper on a stroller. Eventually, I found a quiet spot, got a gelato, and watched the world go by, trying to embrace the chaos.
  • 2:00 PM - Lunch & The Salad Saga. Yet another lunch attempt. Today I tried to order a salad, thinking fresh mozzarella in Italy will be the perfect fit. I ended up with a bowl of lettuce, a few sad tomatoes, and rubbery cheese. I decided to get some cookies from the bakery next door to make the taste go down.
  • 3:00 PM - Shopping: The Milanese Temptation. The fashion district. Expensive. Tempting. I walked down the street and nearly got a heart attack from a pair of boots. I tried to get a scarf that fit my taste but couldn't find any. I made a mental note about saving up for a few years.
  • 5:00 PM - Back to La Terrazza & the Search for Peace. Back to the B&B. Needed to decompress after the crowds, the shopping, the salad situation. The terrace was my sanctuary. I sat there, just breathing in the Milanese air, appreciating the quiet. Found a local gelato shop with amazing pistachio ice cream.
  • 7:00 PM - Dinner & Reflections. Went out to eat at a small restaurant that was a bit more in my comfort zone, feeling better. The experience wasn't perfect, but that's the beauty of traveling, isn't it? The imperfections are what you remember. The funny moments, the mistakes, and the little victories, the moments you can look back on and laugh at!

Day 3: Opera, Goodbyes (and a lot of pasta)

  • 9:00 AM - Farewell Breakfast & The Bitter-Sweet Feeling. One last breakfast on the terrace. Trying to soak it all in. Saying goodbye to the host. I felt a pang of sadness already.
  • 10:00 AM - To the Laundry. I needed the laundry. I did not have the time before to take care of this. I started to do a load and ended up taking another nap.
  • 12:00 PM - Last-Minute Pasta: Found a pasta place. It was too perfect, I was the one choosing the food! I asked for the house specialty! That was amazing.
  • 2:00 PM - The Train to the Airport & the End of an Adventure. Back to the train station. The same chaotic energy, but somehow, I was more prepared. More patient. More… Italian, maybe? I managed to navigate my luggage with a bit more finesse, dodging other tourists, and secure a seat by the window.
  • 4:00 PM - Departure: Goodbye, Milan. You magnificent, maddening, beautiful city. You tested my patience, fueled my wanderlust, and gave me memories I'll cherish forever. I'll be back. Next time, though? I'm learning Italian. And bringing better shoes.

Final Thoughts (aka, My Messy Conclusion):

This trip? It wasn’t perfect. I got lost. I ate a terrible salad. I almost face-planted on the cobblestones. But the beauty was everywhere. The food, the art, the architecture, the people… and most importantly, the view from La Terrazza Su Milano. So, yeah, Milan? Grazie. You stole a piece of my heart. And I'll definitely be back for seconds. And maybe even thirds… as long as I can get a decent Aperol Spritz.

P.S. If you're going to La Terrazza Su Milano, book it. Right now. You won't regret it. Just, for the love of all things holy, learn some Italian. And maybe pack a phrasebook. And some patience. And

Escape to Paradise: Your Breathtaking Milan Rooftop Awaits! - FAQs (Because Let's Face It, You HAVE Questions)

Okay, Seriously, What *IS* this "Paradise" Everyone's Raving About? Is it Just a Fancy Balcony?

Alright, let's get real. You're thinking, "Another rooftop bar? Snoozefest!" I get it. I *thought* the same thing. Then I actually went. This place... it's different. It's called "Escape to Paradise" – and honestly, the name doesn't do it justice. Think less "fancy balcony," and more "secret garden in the sky, meets Aperol Spritz haven, meets the only place in Milan where you can *actually* relax." (And trust me, trying to relax in Milan is a sport in itself.)
It's not just a view; it's an *experience*. I mean, one time, I saw a proposal up there. A total tearjerker! The city lights twinkling, the champagne flowing... even *I* almost cried, and I'm usually immune to such things. (Except maybe puppy videos. Don't judge.)
Oh, and the food? Don't get me started. More on that later, 'cause I'm still dreaming of the pistachio pesto pasta.

Is it REALLY that hard to get a reservation? Because I’m already picturing myself standing there, crushed by disappointment, as the sun sets dramatically.

Look, I'm not going to lie. Getting a reservation at “Escape to Paradise” can be a bit of a blood sport. I mean, forget scalping tickets to the opera; trying to snag a table here is practically an Olympic event. I have a friend who sets multiple alarms and texts the reservation line from every device she owns, a true test of commitment.
My advice? Plan ahead. WAY ahead. Like, months ahead, if you're going during peak season. Also, be flexible with your dates and times. And pray to the rooftop gods. Seriously. They might actually listen.
And if you DO get in? Cherish it. Seriously.

The Food... Is it Worth the Hype (and the Price Tag)?

Ugh, the food. Okay, so here's the truth: it's not precisely *cheap*. But is it worth it? Absolutely. It’s not just “good food”; it's an event! It is *cuisine*!
I'm a pasta fanatic, and their pistachio pesto pasta? Seriously, I would sell a kidney for it. No, wait, maybe not a kidney. But I'd consider a *very* elaborate barter system involving homemade limoncello and a lifetime supply of good books. (Okay, maybe not the limoncello; I get attached.)
And the presentation! Each dish is a work of art. You almost don't want to eat it... almost.
They’re not just trying to feed you; they’re trying to *dazzle* you. And honestly? They succeed. Every. Single. Time.

What about the Drinks? Cocktails? Wine? Beer? Is it all just overpriced fancy water?

Alright, let's talk about the important things: the libations. No, it's not "fancy water." It's more like… liquid sunshine. The cocktail list is inventive and delicious. They have classics done perfectly, and then there are these crazy, experimental concoctions that are worth trying, even if you think you won't like them, because you might just fall in love.
They have a fantastic wine selection, too. And decent beer (though, let's be honest, you're probably there for the cocktails or the wine, right?). Prices are, well, rooftop-bar prices. You're paying for the view, the ambiance, and the fact that you're sipping a gorgeous drink with the Milan skyline as your backdrop.
One time, I had this cocktail that was literally infused with rosemary. Rosemary! I don't even like rosemary THAT much, but it was the most refreshing thing I'd ever tasted. The whole experience was utterly transporting.

Dress Code? Am I Supposed to Wear a Suit and Tie, Or Can I Just… Be Me? (Which, let's be honest, is often jeans and a t-shirt.)

The dress code? It's leaning more on the smart-casual side. Think "effortlessly chic" rather than "stuffy corporate lawyer." (Whew, I hate stuffy corporate lawyers.)
You'll see everything from stylish dresses and tailored pants to smart casual attire. Jeans and a nice top? Perfectly acceptable. Sneakers *might* be pushing it, depending on the crowd. But really, the key is to be comfortable, and be confident. Embrace your best version of yourself!
Just... maybe avoid the ripped jeans and the band t-shirt. Unless, of course, the band is *really, really* cool.

Is it Good for a Romantic Date? Or is it More of a "Party with Your Friends" Vibe?

Oh, it's absolutely *perfect* for a romantic date. The ambiance is inherently romantic. Dim lighting, stunning views, and the gentle murmur of conversations around you… it’s pure magic.
Now, don’t get me wrong, it's great for friends too! I've been with my friends a few times, and it's a blast. The atmosphere has a certain energy that encourages fun and merriment. Just imagine, sipping Negronis and laughing with your closest people, the city lights twinkling at your feet... You'd think you're in a movie!
But, if you want to impress someone for a first date, that's when you go.

What if it Rains? Do they have umbrellas? Or am I doomed to dine in misery?

Okay, real talk: Milan weather can be unpredictable. You can go from sunshine to torrential downpour in about 20 minutes. And yes, they *do* have umbrellas. They have coverings. They have... well, they have ways of making sure you don't get completely soaked.
But listen… *even* if it rains a little, it's still pretty spectacular. The city looks even more magical when the lights are shimmering on wet cobblestones. Just embrace it! Embrace the romance, if you're with a date, or the shared adventure, if you're with friends!
